Strategies for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Townhouse Condominium has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
