2. Security Deposit - $500 is immediately charged at time of booking. If the property is left undamaged, keys & parking passes returned, your security deposit will be refunded within 45 days after check out.

About the Area

Located in Atlantic Beach, this condo is on the beach. North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and North Carolina Maritime Museum are local attractions and those in the mood for shopping can visit Coral Bay Shopping Center and Morehead Plaza Shopping Center. Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway and Mount Maker Charters are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing.

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, shift your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
