Booking the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Fantastic Oceanfront 4bd\/2ba. 3 night min in Spring\/Fall &10% disc. for 7 nights has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
