Finding the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect rental in Emerald Isle:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. OCEANFRONT 4BR, 2 BA House at the Point! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your group.
- If there's a specific New Bern attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
