Strategies for getting the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Emerald Isle Oceanfront Home with Private Pool and Dog-friendly! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
