Vacation rental tips:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the best New Bern vacation home:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Pet friendly, 2nd Row Oceanview private pool, hot tub, golf cart,Spinnaker's Reach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
