Our top Atlantic Beach rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Great winter rates in the AB Circle! Pet Friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
