Finding the best New Bern vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the rightvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Indigo Blue, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
