EXTERIOR
Savor your view from the cavernous top deck or the comfort of the enclosed porch. Sit back, forget, and relax from the hectic demands of your daily life.
There are multiple bird species in the area that frequent the garden and water areas just outside your back door. An occasional eagle will grace you with its presence. Don't be surprised if you see some deer visiting the neighborhood during the day and evening hours.
Unwind on the back deck or on the screened in porch and take in the sounds of nature from this wooded lot with a delightful view of water in the distance beyond the trees. Or sit on the bench on your own private boat dock on deep waters from which you are welcome to fish or crab. Bring your boat!

Strategies to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Boat Dock! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
