Strategies to get the best New Bern vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the best rental home in Beaufort:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Coastal Cottage, walk to downtown Beaufort, close to beaches, pet friendly. has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your family.
- If there's a specific New Bern destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
