This review from a guest says it best! Thanks Patricia! "Clamalot is spectacular!
This was our best experience with Vacation Rental By Owner yet. The property owner - Robert Rose-has put time and effort into creating a space that is clean, pretty, unique and comfortable. The home has historical books and items from the community that create a true sense of "space". The area has many family friendly things to do, fresh seafood, and a laid back vibe. Rob was also communicative and prompt in his responses regarding check in and check out. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property."

A striking vacation offering in Historic Beaufort NC! Delightful three bedroom two-story home with off street parking and room for your boat. First floor has a huge living room, well equipped eat in kitchen with new stainless appliances, two bedrooms and one full bath, and a dining room. Upstairs has a sizable bedroom with two 3/4 beds and a sitting area, a nook with desk and a full bath. Wood floors throughout, the kitchen is freshly refreshed, new two zone air conditioning upstairs and down, and newly painted and decorated.

The kitchen is very well equipped for a serious prepare, and there is everyday dishwasher safe china, glass and silverware, as well as an broad collection of vintage barware, crystal and china for settings suitable for any occasion. ( glass and dishware with gold decoration must be hand washed-plenty others dishwasher safe)

The back yard is humongous, has charcoal park style grille, 4 Adirondack chairs around a fire pit and a enormous picnic table.

All of the beds are new, the bed linens include 100% cotton sheets, there are reading lights beside the beds to appreciate books from a huge collection, with many focused on Beaufort.

Amazon Alexa in living room, and Amazon dots in laundry room and in all bedrooms for music, news, weather, alarms, you name it! ( These are not surveillance devices. Feel complimentary to unplug if the spook you but remember to plug back in for next guests)

This is my second home as well, and has tons of antiques, art, books and collectibles not usually found in a vacation rental. No Ikea here!

How to find the best New Bern vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Historic Beaufort NC House, 3-Bedroom 2-Story, Big Yard, Walk\/Bike Everywhere has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a specific New Bern destination you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
