Getting the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:

  • Start by having your family commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Condo in Oceanfront Complex w\/WiFi, Shared Pool + Ocean\/Courtyard Views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
