Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Family friendly studio with sound, beach, and pool access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
