Dock your boat at the neighborhood dock, or sit in the Adirondack chairs and relax by the creek. Take a walk down to "The Boathouse at Front Street Village", or eat at "Traders" (inside the neighborhood) and grab Beaufort Grocery "to go". Take in some history at the Beaufort Historic Site and NC Maritime Museum or drop your kayak in Taylor’s Creek. Then, relish in it all with beverages and award-winning seafood overlooking the water at sunset. It’s no wonder so many people call Beaufort their home away from home.

New Bern rental booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the best New Bern vacation home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Dreamy Beaufort charmer has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
