How to get the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Dog-friendly corner townhome with deck & patio - walk to the beach & town has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
