Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home in Atlantic Beach:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Classic Oceanfront Beach Cottage by Oceanana Pier has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
