How to get the best New Bern vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your New Bern rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing your New Bern rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Adorable 4 Bedroom Home with a Pool and a short walk to the beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
