Pine Knolls Shore area offers a more casual, family-aligned experience than most NC or SC resort areas are offering these days. The location of this community is set somewhat apart from the hustle and bustle, and the clean, broad beaches provide an alluring hideaway for couples and families. The unit has two floors, sleeps 6 comfortably (that is the max. number of occupants) and has been completely modernized for 2021. It is a great location just steps from the beach and pool.
This modest development, Pine Knoll Townes III, is occupied mostly by residents and out-of-town homeowners lending itself to a friendly, safe and mature ambiance (i.e. no wild events). Kids especially adore the ease of beach to pool to condo access. The NC Aquarium is right down the street, Lost Treasure mini golf & raceway about 3 miles, Fort Macon 8 miles, and a short ride to historic Beaufort. Please: No smoking and No family pets allowed for renters as per condo rules.

Also: Most people bring their own linens. If you choose to use our service, there is a fee. You should bring some beach towels and beach chairs.

Finding the best vacation home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanview Unit in Desirable, Family-Friendly Community. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular New Bern destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
