Tips and Tricks to get the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Cosgrove's Cove has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
