Strategies for getting the perfect Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Pine Knoll Shores. To find the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Great home for entertaining family, friends and fishermen. Fish off the beach. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
