Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Pine Knoll Shores rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the best rental home in Pine Knoll Shores:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. OG#10- Driftwood on the Ocean, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
