How to find the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Coral Shores #4-Ocean Front Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
