Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your New Bern rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective.
