Strategies for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your New Bern rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. BREATHTAKING VIEWS/ DIRECT OCEAN FRONT has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular New Bern beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
