Tricks and tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 2 Bed, 2 Bath Oceanfront Condo at Island Beach & Racquet Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
