How to get the best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the perfect New Bern vacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. King Junior-Unit 112 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
