Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose a perfect New Bern vacation home:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Wonderful oceanview condo w\/recently updated kitchen & bathrooms! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
