Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental home in the New Bern area:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Soundfront
    Gorgeous Sunsets &
    Family community atmosphere
has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular New Bern attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
