Finding the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your New Bern rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Dolphin's Run, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain New Bern beach you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
