Our top New Bern rental property booking tips:

When to go & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing yourrental home:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly, Ocean Front, 3 Ensuite BR! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
