Strategies for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group select dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pelican's Roost 2, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual New Bern beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
