Tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in New Bern. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book your New Bern rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Our Getaway Two has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Tips for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
