Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Prime Location 2nd row!!! Beautiful beach views from the deck!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
