Booking the best New Bern vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Island Dreams, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review.
