Strategies to get the optimal New Bern vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your New Bern vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Front Dunescape Villas Condo! (Dunescape 335) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- If there's a particular New Bern destination you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
