Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Helene victims please reach out! We can offer a long term rental has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual New Bern beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
