If bringing dogs, please add the pet fee of $125 to the rental request and read Rule Number 1 regarding any limitations. If no pet fee is added but you bring pets anyway the pet fee will be deducted from your damage deposit. Just a note, heavy shedding pets will incur an additional fee for the additional cleaning required. This amount will be determined based on the additional cleaning involved and deducted from your damage deposit. Only dogs are allowed as pets.

We provide starter rolls of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels, but you will need to purchase any additional items for your use while staying. We do provide hand soap but no bathing toiletries (i.e., shampoo/conditioner, bath soap). Before departure we ask that you wash the towels and wash cloths and start them in the dryer and start the wash with half of the sheets. Leave the remaining sheets on the floor in front of the washer and dryer and the cleaning crew will finish them when they arrive.

We recommend you obtain travel insurance as we are not able to swap out weeks or give refunds outside of our stated refund policy. Many credit card issuers provide this as a card holder benefit.

Tips and Tricks for getting the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect New Bern rental home:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Great Location for Beach, Sun, and Fun! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
