Tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. To find the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book a perfect New Bern rental home:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 Bed/3 Bath ~ 2nd Floor Oceanfront Prime Condo ~ Elevator ~ 1205 Queens Court has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain New Bern destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
