How to find the best rental home experience:

When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:

  • To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beaufort Waterfront Yacht has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
