Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sweet Caroline coastal home Beaufort, NC 28516 in Beau Coast Comm master on main has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
