Tricks and tips to get the optimal New Bern rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Booking your New Bern vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Calm Tide -On Ann Street, walking distance to Beaufort waterfront. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
