Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking a perfect New Bern vacation home:
- To start, have your group select dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 3BR + 2 Bonus Rooms - Ocean Front has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
