Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 2nd-row duplex with ocean views, decks, & W\/D - walk to beach\/pier has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
