Stunning ocean vistas. Upscale luxury in a beach home with expansive seascape vistas. This oceanfront bungalow has been floor-to-ceiling remodeled with an fresh modern coastal vibe that was designed by Susie to keep all different styles of visitors in mind.
The beach home is completely private. And we are located well away from the hordes -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the home, accepting complete enjoyment of the white sandy beaches.
Clean lines and bespoke furnishings let the gorgeous 180-degree ocean vistas do all the talking. Two sets of sliding double doors open up to a enormous sunbathing deck with plenty of furnishings to appreciate the ocean breeze (and tan without the sand), while sipping your favorite drink.
Outdoor dining for two is also recommended if you like romance, as you have an unobstructed view of over 2 miles of coastline (great for taking vacation pics).
For your convenience, we boast the shortest walk to the sand you can buy on the island if you feel like walking down to the beach to check on your family. But where Susie's Hideaway East really shines is when you wake up from a vacation siesta to the unbeatable vistas of the sand and ocean from our bespoke-made napping couch.
Linens and towels are supplied. Also we are only 5 mins. on a walking path from a wine store, grocery stores, and eateries.
Susie's Hideaway East features all new kitchen with granite countertops, new appliances, new floor, new linens, ceiling fans, dishwasher, washer/dryer, flat screen TVs, and wireless high-speed Internet access.
Susie's Hideaway is a duplex (with two sides, East and West). This listing is for the East side. It is completely private -- there are no shared or common areas. And we are located well away from the hordes -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the home, accepting complete enjoyment of the white sandy beaches!
Tesla and EV Owners: We have a 120V electrical outlet located in the parking bays to charge your car.
Linens and towels are supplied.
Hosts: Susie & William

Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Upscale Oceanfront, with Panoramic Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain New Bern destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
