Getting the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your New Bern rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. UPDATED KITCHEN - AMAZING VIEWS has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
