Visitors can enjoy a decadent taste of the North Carolina golfing scene without venturing too far from the Crystal Coast shoreline or the historic communities of Beaufort and Morehead City with a visit to the slightly inland Brandywine Bay Golf Club. Situated just off of Highway 70, this Bruce Devlin designed-course has been a favorite field of play since it first opened in 1977. Since then, it has introduced golfers from all across the country to a beautiful landscape of natural and manmade water hazards, lush native foliage, and beautiful vistas that are just a shell’s throw away from the Bogue Sound.
The course has been voted as one of the “Best Places to Play in North Carolina” in a 2006 issue of Golf Digest Magazine, and is a semi-private course where public play is absolutely encouraged. The on-site pro shop is happy to welcome new visitors, and golfers will enjoy TifEagle Bermuda grass greens and putting surfaces that are wonderfully smooth. The layout winds through a quiet housing community, with few distractions for golfers, and the convenient locale ensures players from Cedar Island to Emerald Isle can access the course with ease. Fun and wide open, the Brandywine Bay Golf Club is a solid golfing destination for locals and occasional visitors alike.
