Booking the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 3rd Row Oceanview Duplex, beach and community pool access, in Spinnaker's Reach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
