How to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your New Bern rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book your prefect New Bern rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Tar Landing Villas 608, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
