How to book the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sound Of The Sea East 109, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
