Sea Notes is a 6-bedroom home, with 6-full and 2-half-baths, and you won't have to worry about trekking anything up and down the stairs because it has an Elevator that is available from the Ground Level all the way to the top.
The min., whimsical details and treatments this home extends are not to be missed, even down to the oval, nickle door knobs. And getting to the beach is painless! Beach access is directly across the street (see photo) but if you don't want to spend all of your time at the beach, there is a handsome Pool and Hot Tub at your disposal.
The first thing you will notice upon entering Sea Notes, which you will find generous throughout this home, is the fanciful artwork, object art, and bespoke-painted furnishings. It is obvious that great care was taken to insure that each room resonates a theme.
When you enter Sea Notes, at Ground Level, the first rooms you see are the bright and fun Media and Game Rooms. The Media Room is decorated in lively primary colors and furnished with a Cherry, suede-like sectional and over-sized, Denim blue chair. The walls are full of sea life, from the entertaining musical frogs to the brilliantly colored fish making their way through sea reeds. Next door is the Game Room - in the middle of the Game Room sits a Fire Engine Red Pool Table, and is cornered by a deep blue-tiled Kitchenette, with a Microwave and Fridge. Next to the Pool Table is a appealing, hand-crafted bench that was created by a local wood worker. It has an Ocean Wave-styled back and huge blue fish armrests, ideal for a home at the beach!
Navigate over to the spirited sailboats and stripes-themed bedroom, located next to the Media Room, with a Double Twin Bunk Set and a Twin Bunk Set...it is a ideal place for the kids. The adjoining bathroom is complimentary with its brightly painted walls and marine-themed decorations and the kayak paddle towel bar is a ideal touch! Even the stairways are enchanting! Both of the stairways are brightly painted, and are full of marine-themed knick-knacks and furnishings, and the first stairway is even painted with a alluring marine life mural! You'll adore to wake up in the "Tequila Sunrise" Bedroom!
The "Tequila Sunrise" Bedroom is located on Level One and is located with a King bed, with a sizable bamboo headboard shaped into a pretty sunrise and "Tequila Sunrise" lyrics painted on both sides! The sunny Melon walls in this bedroom are a sublime backdrop to the deco-style, hand-painted furnishings and cheery, colorful bed coverings. The connecting bathroom has a bathtub, private toilet and an etched glass stand-up shower, with a complimentary rising sun backdrop over the lavatories.
On the way to the 2nd bedroom, on Level One, there is so much to take-in as you walk through the delightful "marine life" hallway and over the over-sized and brightly colored fish-shaped area rug! In the 2nd bedroom, the "Summer Time" room, there is a King bed, and an abundance of eclectic art adorning the walls. The furnishings have a tropical, Indonesian-inspired feel and are a great match for the bamboo and additional treatments found throughout the room. The full-bath, in this room, is unusually bright and "beachy," with fish spouting air bubbles from the Melon walls.
The "Bali Hai" bedroom, also on Level One, is named for the famed and awesome musical "Bali Hai." The sheet music to "Bali Hai" is framed and hung against deep Salmon walls. Also making this bedroom special are the other tropically-inspired treatments, such as, the Raffia Hula bedskirt on the King bed, which is also drapped with charming mosquito netting over the top of the bamboo headboard, the Raffia Hula skirt shower curtain in the bathroom, and Indonesian-inspired object art.
The kids will be crazy about the "Surfini Safari" bedroom! "Surfini Safari" is also on Level One accepting the kids easy access to the adults on the trip. The Twin and Double/Twin Bunk Sets are bedecked with lively striped bedcoverings which are made even brighter against the Tangerine walls. The Surfboard mirror and Surfboard handles, a unique addition to the chest of drawers, match ideally with the beachy scenes found in the adjoining full-bath. This room is so kidcentric there are even colorful footstools at the lavatories!
The bedroom on Level Two is definitely bright & impressive! On the gorgeous wood floor sits a King bed which is adorned with delightful designer bedcoverings in Persimmon, Melon & Butterscotch, against Antique White head and foot boards. The adjoining full-bath has a tub, private water closet, and separate glass shower. The real highlight of this room, and a tribute to the Island, are the enchanting murals decorating the walls...one of a gorgeous mermaid swimming with a modest school of fish and the other, doves carrying a flowing banner over the bed that reads, "I have never felt so complimentary as when I'm listening to the Song of the Sea." Tips and Tricks to get the very best New Bern vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite New Bern restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your New Bern rental:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Sea Notes, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific New Bern attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
